First, we would like to emphasize that in all cases reclassified as microinvasive melanoma, the dermal cells possessed cytopathologic features of melanoma cells (large size, ample cytoplasm, and/or visible nucleoli) appreciable on melan-A stain alone or in conjunction with hematoxylin-eosin (H&E) stain.
