Needle-knife fistulotomy and risk of post-ERCP pancreatitis

We read with great interest the study by Jin et al1 in which needle-knife fistulotomy was assessed as a potential initial procedure for biliary cannulation in patients at risk for the development of post-ERCP pancreatitis. It is remarkable to find that none of the patients experienced such an adverse event.
