Dermatology-led lower-limb cellulitis service: analysis of 1,579 referrals (2007-15)

Summary

In 2014-15, there were 114,190 primary episodes of cellulitis in England, of which 75,838 (66.4%) required hospital admission¹ and this percentage remained unchanged from 2013-14 (69,299, 66.2%). Mean and median bed stays were 6 and 3 days respectively¹ and limb cellulitis contributed to 90% of total cellulitis hospital admissions¹.
