Two-dimensional metal−organic framework as fluorescent probe for ascorbic acid sensing

Ascorbic acid (AA) is an important biological molecule, while the detection of AA is still a huge challenge. Therefore, highly sensitive and selective fluorescent sensors for AA determination are urgely demanded. Herein, the new organic linker 4,4'-(1H-pyrazole-1,3-diyl) dibenzoic acid (H2L) has been excavated to construct successfully the novel two-dimensional metal-organic framework, ZnL(H2O)·(H2O) (ZJU-137, ZJU = Zhejiang University). The ZJU-137 demonstrates high selectivity and sensitivity for the detection of AA via a fluorescence quenching. The limit of detection for AA was 34 nM, with a wide concentration linear range of 0-60 μM, hence, the ZJU-137 has promising application potential for determination of AA in practical applications.
