Lichen planus pigmentosus‐inversus with epidermal melanin granules

Abstract

Lichen planus pigmentosus‐inversus (LPPI) is a rare variant of lichen planus pigmentosus and arises in the intertriginous areas. Although some studies have pointed that there is epidermal pigmentation in LPPI¹, no cases demonstrating the presence of epidermal melanin have been reported. Here we report a case of LPPI in which melanin granules are present throughout the epidermis.
