Resolvin D1 (RvD1) and maresin 1 (Mar1) contribute to human macrophage control of M. tuberculosis infection while resolving inflammation.
In conclusion, RvD1 and Mar1 modulate the anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties of M. tuberculosis-infected human macrophages. Since both proresolving lipids are inducible and synthesized from dietary components, they have immunotherapeutic potential against tuberculosis when inflammation is uncontrolled.
